Drilling at Maclellan Gold Mine - intersect multiple high grades
Carlisle Goldfields Limited's Phase 11 Diamond drilling program at the MacLellan Gold Mine, in Lynn Lake, Manitoba has been completed. A total of 21 drillholes, were completed for a total of approximately 8,794 metres. Over 2,400 drill core samples remain outstanding at this time, and assay returns are taking in excess of 6 weeks, additional results are expected shortly.
Carlisle Goldfields Limited’s Phase 11 Diamond drilling program at the MacLellan Gold Mine, in Lynn Lake, Manitoba has been completed. A total of 21 drillholes, were completed for a total of approximately 8,794 metres. Over 2,400 drill core samples remain outstanding at this time, and assay returns are taking in excess of 6 weeks, additional results are expected shortly. Once all assay data has been received and compiled into the database a review of the Resource Statement will be undertaken. Drilling is expected to re-commence in the fall, targeting areas within the resource area and stepping out to locate new resources East and West of the MacLellan Mine.
The 2008 Drilling program has been testing all of the zones at the MacLellan Mine from the Nisku Zone on the east to the Dot zone on the west, and below the mine workings. Additional mineralization has been targeted to the south of the mine area as well. Drilling in the Rainbow Zone has provided a number of intervals with visible gold.
Drilling continues to intersect high grades and multiple zones in both the Nisku and Main zones. The frequency of higher grade intervals and of visible gold occurrences is greater than in previous drilling programs, suggesting that both grade and consistency of the mineralization are improving to depth.
Assay results are available for drillhole MG-08–02, which intersected a wide zone of mineralization, including a number of higher grade intervals in the lower Nisku Zone. Drillhole MG08–04 intersected low gold and silver values in a gap in mineralization to the east of the Nisku zone, under-explored gold values remain further east of this location. Drillhole MG08–11 intersected low gold and silver values in a poorly mineralized area between the East Main and Nisku zones. Drillhole MG08–12 confirmed the East Main at deeper levels. Drillhole MG08–16A cut a number of higher grade intervals, within a broad mineralized zone, deep in the Main zone. Many of these intervals are outside of the area in which the recently published resource is contained and will contribute to enlarging the resource and upgrading from Inferred to Indicated resources.
Silver values continue to be found in the assay intervals with the Gold, up to 3 times the gold content. It is anticipated that silver values will contribute in a major way to the economics of a future mining operation.

(x) true width will be about 85–90 % of core length.
Drill core is logged, and saw split, on site. One half of the NQ diameter core is shipped to TSL Laboratories, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, “an ISO 9001:2000” accredited laboratory, for analysis. TSL protocols include fire assay for Au and Ag with an ICP finish on a crushed and pulverized sub-sample. The MDL and upper detection limits (UDL) for Au are 5 – 1000 ppb under this protocol, and 0.2 – 50 ppb for Ag. Above the UDL a gravimetric method is used for determination on high concentrations. A quality control program has been implemented to ensure best practices in the sampling and analysis of the drill core. Certified control standards, and coarse field blanks were inserted into the sample stream. A program of analysis of duplicate samples will be undertaken. Mr. Stephen Mlot, P. Eng., the President of the Company, is the qualified person for this press release.
About Carlisle: Carlisle Goldfields Limited is a Canadian based gold exploration and development company, focused on development of its wholly owned mining leases and claims in the Lynn Lake Greenstone Belt of Northern Manitoba, covering approximately 20,000 hectares. The mid-term exploration objective is to further define and increase the resource base on all of the Company’s Lynn Lake Properties (including MacLellan) to the 800,000 to 1,200,000 ounce level. Contributing to this is there recently announced Resource Estimate for the MacLellan Mine. Additional details about Carlisle and the MacLellan Mine can be viewed on the Company’s website.
