Wolverine Minerals Corp. (WLV.V)

Wolverine Logo

Wolverine Minerals Corp. is an exploration company focused on finding and developing economic mineral properties in Western Canada, specifically the Yukon.

The company’s primary asset is the 21-property Wolverine Gold Project which includes 15 mineral properties on the emerging Dawson Range Gold Belt of west-central Yukon and six properties in the Finlayson District of eastern Yukon. Wolverine Minerals recently announced an agreement with Strategic Minerals Ltd. whereby Wolverine can earn 100% interest in all 21 projects.

Yukon Exploration

Canada’s Yukon Territory is recognized as one of the best jurisdictions anywhere for mineral exploration and development and was ranked fourth worldwide for exploration by The Fraser Institute in its Survey of Mining Companies: 2010 Mid-Year Update. The Yukon boasts a favorable regulatory environment, good infrastructure and vast areas of still unexplored ground.

The Yukon’s modern-day mining history began with the famous Klondike Gold Rush of 1896-98. Over the years, the province has experienced several exploration and mining booms, mostly concurrent with metals cycles and major discoveries.

Due to a flurry of mineral discoveries in recent years, both major and junior mining companies have descended upon two primary regions of the province: The Dawson Range and the Finlayson District

Dawson Range

Highly Productive but Still Under-explored
Wolverine Minerals Corp. has optioned 15 properties in the highly productive yet under-explored Dawson Range Gold Belt. This belt has produced many significant gold discoveries over the past 100+ years, and more recently – thanks to a number of major new discoveries – it has become one of the premier gold exploration regions of North Amercia.

Klondike Goldfields and Others
Prior to 2000, exploration in the Dawson Range belt primarily searched for placer gold and included the famed Klondike Goldfields. Major porphyry copper discoveries include the Casino, Cash*, Minto and Carmacks Copper* deposits. The best known hard rock deposits were clustered in the southeastern part of the belt and comprised intrusion-related veins and stockwork zones of the Mt. Nansen*, Mt. Freegold* and Big Creek* camps.

Major Orogenic Deposits Since 2000
Since 2000, work has focused mostly on locating orogenic gold deposits. Important discoveries of this type include White Gold of Underworld Resources Inc./Kinross Gold Corporation; Coffee Creek of Kaminak Gold Corporation; Eureka* of Strategic Metals Ltd./Golden Predator Corp.; and Thistle Creek* of ATAC Resources Ltd./Arcus Development Group Inc.

Intrusion Deposits
Recent exploration efforts have also re-examined intrusion-related targets within the belt. Successes have been reported at Klaza* by Rockhaven Resources Ltd., Mt. Nansen* by Guinness Exploration, Nucleus* and Mt. Freegold* by Northern Freegold Resources Ltd., Prospector Mountain* by Tarsis Resources Ltd./Silver Quest Resources Ltd. and Connaught* by Klondike Silver Corp./ATAC Resources Ltd.

Important New Knowledge Generating New Discoveries
The recent discoveries in the Dawson Range Gold Belt are partly attributed to the realization that soil samples must be taken much deeper than normal to be effective, because of a district-wide layer of wind-blown sediments that overlie residual soil. Failure to recognize the wind-blown sediments caused earlier exploration programs to miss many significant, gold-rich zones.

Access
Land access to the Dawson Range Gold Belt is largely confined to establish placer and hard rock gold mining camps, located in the Klondike Goldfield south of Dawson City and the Mt. Nansen, Mt. Freegold and Big Creek areas west of Carmacks. Although the properties optioned by Wolverine Minerals Corp. are not directly accessible by road, most are well situated relative to the established camps and none is blocked by a major mountain range or large river.

Finlayson Range

Yukon’s Largest Staking Rush
Located in the southeast sector of the province, the Finlayson District represents an outstanding exploration region with relatively untapped potential. The district is best known within the mineral industry for its volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits, many of which contain gold as a primary or bi-product metal.

History of VMS Discoveries
The discoveries of the Kudz Ze Kayah (1994) and Wolverine (1995) zinc-copper-lead-silver-gold deposits in the Finlayson district led to the largest staking rush in the history of the Yukon. Wolverine, under development by Yukon Zinc Corp., is currently the most advanced VMS deposit of this type and is expected to open in late 2010. Recent geological mapping in by the Yukon Geological Survey has shown there are at least four discrete packages of felsic and mafic volcanic rocks with the potential to host comparable deposits. VMS districts in Canada and abroad have proven extremely productive.

Major polymetallic deposits of the Finlayson District include:

|_. Deposit |_. Tonnes |_. Zn % |_. Pb % |_. Cu % |_. Ag (g/t) |_. Au (g/t) |_. Co % | | Kudz Ze Kayah | 11.30M | 5.9 | 1.5 | 0.9 | 1.37 | 1.3 | | | Wolverine | 3.75M | 12.5 | 1.4 | 1.4 | 336.6 | 1.6 | | | Ice | 4.50M | | | 1.48 | | | | | Fyre Lake | 8.20M | | | 2.1 | | 0.73 | 0.11 | | GP4F | 1.50M | 6.4 | 3.1 | 0.1 | 90.1 | 2.0 | |

Once Part of the Dawson Range Gold Belt
It is not widely recognized that all of the volcanogenic and orogenic deposits and many of the intrusion-related gold deposits in the Dawson Range Gold Belt were formed prior to movement on the Tintina Fault, when the Dawson Range Gold Belt directly adjoined the Finlayson District. Thus, the belt of gold deposits can reasonably be expected to continue into the Finlayson District.

Property Access
Primary access to the Finlayson District is provided by the Robert Campbell Highway, which connects the communities of Watson Lake in the southeast to Ross River in the northwest. No part of the district is more than 50 km from that highway. Wolverine’s Hoole and Loop properties are located alongside the Highway and the other properties require only a short helicopter trip.

Gold Focus
Only limited exploration has been done specifically for gold in the Finlayson District. The six properties optioned by Wolverine Minerals cover the most prospective of the known targets (see map). The properties are summarized and mapped in a recent report by Archer Cathro & Associates.
