Phase one exploration of Jaxon Minerals Inc.'s newly optioned three blocks of mineral claims in the famous Flin Flon/Snow Lake volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit belt of Manitoba and Saskatchewan has commenced. Geotech Ltd. of Aurora, Ont., has started an estimated 1,113-line-kilometre survey using its VTEM-Mag helicopter airborne geophysical system. This survey methodology has a proven record in the region, identifying typical VMS-style geophysical patterns of strong conductance (VTEM anomalies) and associated magnetic response (horizontal magnetometer gradiometer). Drilling on Copper Creek Gold Corp.'s Bonsai gold-silver property located in northwestern British Columbia has ended for the season. It has completed 944 metres of BTW-diameter diamond drilling in four holes. The holes were designed to confirm and to test the downdip extension of hole BZ03-08. This hole was drilled in 2003 by Heritage Explorations Inc. and returned 64 metres of 0.38 gram per tonne gold and 27.0 grams per tonne silver from 90 to 154 m. Full story

Jaxon Minerals Inc. has entered into option agreements with Gem Oil Inc. and others that allow the company to acquire 100 per cent of the mineral rights to three properties located in the Flin Flon-Snow Lake volcanogenic massive sulphide and gold deposit Greenstone belt in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The belt's metavolcanic rocks of the Amisk group, known to underlie portions of the properties, form one of the largest Paleoproterzoic VMS districts in the world. This famous belt has, for decades, supported mining, milling and smelting, and contains 27 copper-zinc-gold deposits from which 183 million tonnes of sulphide ore have been mined. Full story
